GLEE's Alex Newell to Join Cover Girls Live at Vine in Hollywood Tomorrow

The compilation of powerhouse female vocalists COVER GIRLS LIVE is set to kick off their Hollywood debut and residency this Thursday, March 19th with Special Guests Alex Newell (GLEE, The Glee Project) and JP Castillo (The Jacksons, Lifetime's BRING IT).

The Cast for the debut concert will feature Broadway favorite Lexi Lawson (RENT, IN THE HEIGHTS), Brenda Jill Castillo (OZ the musical, DISNEYLAND), and Cover Girls Live founding member and Creative Director Kat Hennessey (WICKED, BILLY ELLIOT).

The show kicks off at 9pm at 9 on Vine in Hollywood. The FREE show will run every Thursday in an open ended run at this new LA hotspot, and will feature new specials guests each week.

COVER GIRLS LIVE is a compilation of powerhouse female vocalists from Broadway and the Recording Industry who perform original and inventive covers of the greatest hits. The brain child of Kat Hennessey and Kelly King, their expansive rotating roster of talent include Broadway favorites Sydney Morton, Natalie Weiss, Leslie McDonnel, Alexa Green and recording artists Ashley Loren, Kristina Nicole Miller, and Alexis Sims, amongst many more. The company launched last summer with a residency in Rehoboth Beach at the legendary Blue Moon. Their original covers of hit pop songs have included an acoustic cello version of Bang Bang (featuring Lauren Molina on Cello), and their iconic I Wanna Dance With Somebody shot on location in Brooklyn.

Alex Newell is a singer and actor known for his daring work as Unique Adams of FOX's GLEE, and was a runner up on the first season of The GLEE Project. He is a recording artist who just released a cover of Robin S's iconic 90's hit "Show Me" with Russian DJ Matey Emerson. Keep up with Alex @Anew92

JP Castillo is a pop singer/ song writer that has performed all over the world along side some of the industries top names including J Lo, David Foster and Andrea Bocelli. He was most recently seen touring with the legendary group The Jacksons. His music is featured on hit TV shows on Lifetime and VH1 networks. Lexi Lawson is known for her role as MIMI in the Broadway National Tour of RENT opposite Adam Pascal and Anthony Rapp, as Vanessa in In The Heights, American Idol Season 8, and as a recording artist opened up for International R&B star Ne-Yo, and currently sings with Duran Duran, Gloria Gaynor, and Lisa Lisa and the Cult Jams. Kat Hennessey is a founding member of Cover Girls LIVE with Kelly King, and currently serves as their Creative Director. Kat has had a diverse background in entertainment. As a performer, she was notably seen as Elphaba in the Japanese production of the hit musical WICKED, as Mum in the US National Tour of the Tony Award Winning BILLY ELLIOT, and was part the creation process from workshop to Opening Night of CIRQUE DU SOLEIL's Banana Shpeel. Brenda Jill Castillo's credits including shows for Radio City, Disneyland and Disney California Adventure, and the national tour of Oz The Musical. She is the lead singer for Instant Replay, a pop/rock 80's cover band featured at Disneyland, and can be seen performing multiple roles in the stunt show at Pirate's Dinner Adventure.
