Don't cry for Audra McDonald!

Broadway superstar and six-time Tony Award-winning leading lady Audra McDonald recently performed the standout EVITA score selection "Rainbow High" as part of her most recent Carnegie Hall concert last month and a complete high quality video of her performance of the song is now available to view.

Of note, McDonald essayed the role of Eva Peron in the Tony Award-winning, historically-based Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice musical when she was only 16 in her hometown of Fresno, California.

Furthermore, McDonald recently recalled the experience of performing the titanic diva role as part of an extensive essay penned late last year, available here.

Notably, McDonald expressed her love for Patti LuPone in the eloquent essay, LuPone having famously headlined the original Broadway production of the international blockbuster musical. The two have teamed up several times since, most notably in a series of Stephen Sodheim musicals at the Ravinia Festival in Chicago, IL.

Audra McDonald has appeared on Broadway in numerous notable roles, winning six Tony Awards for her efforts, in productions such as CAROUSEL, MASTER CLASS, RAGTIME, MARIE CHRISTINE, A RAISIN IN THE SUN, HENRY IV, THE GERSHWINS' PORGY & BESS and LADY DAY AT EMERSON'S BAR & GRILLE as well as countless galas, benefits, concerts and cabaret appearances. She is also noted for her work on the TV series PRIVATE PRACTICE, in which she starred for four seasons, as well as other television and film work.
