Los Angeles indie pop/rock band FLIGHTS OVER PHOENIX has just released their debut music video for their infectious new single "Middle Of The World," a track off their newly released EP Where I Comedown. The video, shot and directed by award-winning production duo McCoy|Meyer, first premiered on Culture Collide and can now be seen wide on YouTube.

"'Middle Of The World' is a song that explores the feelings of isolation through imagery that one might experience in a dream of that nature," the band explains. "In writing the song, we wanted it to feel like a journey, and so we wanted the music to be up-tempo and have a lot of movement."
For the music video, the three-piece traveled to Soggy Dry Lake in the California desert alongside directors Eric McCoy and Justus Meyer who are responsible for more than 100 commercials, short films, and music videos. "It was great working on the video with Eric and Justus. We wanted the video to touch on the feelings of isolation within the lyrics but to have a positive undertone of exploration and hope. They really struck a great balance and we love how it came out. Their whole crew was very professional and it was an absolute pleasure working with them."
After spending a few years in Boston collaborating with local musicians and performing in cover bands, singer/songwriter Keith Longo felt it was time for a change. With nothing more than a packed car and a playlist of Phil Collins, Stone Temple Pilots, and some other favorites, he headed west in hopes of finding like-minded individuals who wanted to forego a desk job and dedicate their life to music. Not long after, thanks to a Craigslist music post, he found just that in guitarist Chris Santillo. The two began writing, recording, and laying the groundwork for what eventually become FLIGHTS OVER PHOENIX.
Through a mutual friend, Chris met drummer Jordan Nuanez who had finished touring with multiple national acts and was looking to join a band as permanent member. After a few jams, the chemistry between Keith, Chris and Jordan was undeniable and the lineup was complete. The love child of stadium rock and modern-day pop, raised on 90's alternative values, FLIGHTS OVER PHOENIXhas a versatile sound that delivers high energy songs with memorable hooks.
FLIGHTS OVER PHOENIX first landed on the music scene with the 2015 release of their single "Runaway California," which has over 125,000 spins on Spotify. Their debut EP Where I Comedown was just released in March 2017; check out a behind-the-scenes video of the band's recording process here. The band released a lyric video for the track "Deadstill" and "Middle Of The World" marks their first music video. FLIGHTS OVER PHOENIX performs throughout the Los Angeles area, frequenting The Peppermint Club and Sayers Club; look for more music and dates later this year.
