As predicted, the soundtrack to Disney's Oscar-winning animated film FROZEN remained at the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 for an eighth week. According to Billboard.com, the news marks the longest run atop the list since Adele's "21" finished up a 24-week run at No. 1 in 2012.

According to Nielsen SoundScan, the album sold an additional 161,000 copies in the week ending March 30, marking a 20 percent decrease compared with last week's sales, yet still enough to keep it on top of the charts.

Since 1991, "Frozen" is only the 20th album to remain at No. 1 for eight weeks or more. "21" holds the record for the longest reign, followed by Whitney Houston's "The Bodyguard" soundtrack (20 weeks at No. 1) and Garth Brooks' "Ropin' the Wind" (18 weeks at No. 1).

In total, "Frozen" has sold a whopping 1.8 million copies, with 1.5 million of those sold in 2014, making it the biggest-selling album of this year.

About Disney's Frozen: Walt Disney Animation Studios, the studio behind "Tangled" and "Wreck-It Ralph," presents "Frozen," a stunning big-screen comedyadventure. Fearless optimist Anna (voice of Kristen Bell) sets off on an epic journey-teaming up with rugged mountain man Kristoff (voice of Jonathan Groff) and his loyal reindeer Sven-to find her sister Elsa (voice of Idina Menzel), whose icy powers have trapped the kingdom of Arendelle in eternal winter.

Encountering Everest-like conditions, mystical trolls and a hilarious snowman named Olaf, Anna and Kristoff battle the elements in a race to save the kingdom.
