After sold out shows at Fresh Ground Pepper's PlayGround Festival and Ars Nova's ANT Fest, the youthful powerhouse ensemble of Folk Wandering returns to the New York stage for a special concert performance at Joe's Pub. Tales from tenement Manhattan, Depression-era Utah, and rural 1950s Indiana are woven together in this wistful new folk musical.

Folk Wandering began its unique journey a few years ago when up-and-coming playwright Jaclyn Backhaus paired up with a trusted collaborator, director Andrew Neisler, to develop a musical that combined some of Backhaus' stories from various points in American history. Folk Wandering In Concert at Joe's Pub will feature a sweeping folk-rock score written collaboratively and developed over the past few years by an ensemble of New York's emerging singer/songwriters, under the leadership of Backhaus, Neisler and indie composer and arranger Mike Brun.

Folk Wandering is a celebration of the untold grief that moves us forward, giving a voice to the inherent truth that America was originally founded on the dream of treading new ground.

On January 9th, Folk Wandering will present a concert performance at Joe's Pub at 9:30PM. Tickets are $12. For ticket information visit www.joespub.com
