FM Pilots Tops MusicDish*China Indie Song Chart

MusicDish*China announced its Top 5 Indie Song Chart, based on aggregate plays on Chinese streaming portals, including Ximalaya, Diandian, Lizhi.fm and YuYin.fm for the period 07/19 - 07/25/2014. The songs were promoted through MusicDish*China Song Blast, a low-cost song promotional service to help introduce Western independent music to the biggest music market through Chinese streaming and social media platforms (http://www.musicdish.com/china/music/singlepromo.php3).

Oklahoma pop-alternative quartet FM Pilots' "With You" skyrocketed to the top of this week's chart with over 4,000 plays over the week. Hard rock continues to find favor with Chinese listeners with female fronted aggressive rock band Mongrel and Canadian metal band Display of Decay coming in at 2nd and 3rd place. Illustrating the eclectic taste of China's music fans, bass music producer Balkstar comes in 4th place with his single "Zombie Dance," followed by Maryland-based instrumental rock guitarist Randy Ellefson.
