"I Wanna Dance With You," a song by Silvercreek Records recording artist Eric Durrance, is featured in the soundtrack of "The Dance," a short film produced by ABC Entertainment. The film is part of "Home for the Holidays," a series of short films written and directed by U.S. military veterans, which includes a theme song by GRAMMY®-winning artist Lady Antebellum.

ABC invited veterans who want to work in the film and television industry to submit original scripts with a holiday theme. Five were selected for production, and are now being shown at www.ABC.com/holidays through the end of this year.

"I'm excited that the producers of 'The Dance' thought 'I Wanna Dance With You' was right for their film," Durrance said. "I have great respect for our veterans, so it's a real honor to be involved in this project."

"The Dance" tells the story of a soldier who is wounded in action, and dreams of returning home to dance with the girl he left behind. It stars Ruty Rutenberg ("Baby Daddy," "Argo") and newcomer Kelly Taylor Hancock. The song "I Wanna Dance With You" is featured prominently in the soundtrack.

"For me, music is one of the windows to a soul," said writer/director Ryan Curtis. "Without the right music, you can't pull the correct emotional strings. I was so over-the-moon excited when I heard Eric's song, because it sounded like it was written for my movie. The mood, lyrics and melody were absolutely perfect."

Curtis, a former staff sergeant in the U.S. Army, served in Iraq and Egypt. Originally from the Boston area, he now lives in Los Angeles, where he works as a freelance director and director of photography. While directing "The Dance," he was mentored by by Ted Sullivan, a writer for the hit ABC series "Revenge," and by Sgt. Wayne Isham, an Army veteran who directs music videos in Hollywood. He will be interviewed about the project on ABC's "The View" on Thursday, December 12.

Eric Durrance, who resides in Tallahassee, Florida, has been working his way up in Nashville, having toured with Jason Aldean and Lady Antebellum. Recently, he co-wrote Jake Owen's hit single "Eight Second Ride." Earlier this year, his band, the Tobacco Rd Band, released the single "That's Country" featuring Colt Ford. Durrance recently signed with Silvercreek Records, and plans to release a new album early in 2014. "Superman," a single from the album, is now on iTunes.
