East Bay punk band Emily's Army will release their sophomore album Lost At Seventeen today, June 11, 2013. The album was recorded in Oakland, CA and produced by Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong.

Lost At Seventeen focuses on the inescapable uncertainty we all feel as teenagers as best displayed in the title track "Lost At 17" and single "Avenue" which induce immediate nostalgia of what it feels like to have your whole life ahead of you. The album also addresses the nation's current political climate with the brash rocker "I Am The President", in which vocalist Cole Becker proclaims "Democrats, Republicans... It's all the same, I've had enough of it."

This new album is the follow up to the Emily's Army's 2011 debut Don't Be A Dick which was praised by everyone from Alternative Press who called the album "overwhelmingly tight and poppy" to Entertainment Weekly who applauded the album's "raggedly sharp guitar licks." What stands out the most on Lost At Seventeen is the band's rapid growth as musicians and songwriters. Equal parts scuzzed-out Oakland garage punk and sunny California surf pop, Lost At Seventeen showcases the band's knack for crafting hook-driven, smart pop punk anthems that most strongly call to mind the band's primary influences Operation Ivy, Ramones, The Clash and The Replacements.

Emily's Army is comprised of Cole Becker (vocals/guitar), Max Becker (vocals/bass), Travis Neumann (guitar), and Joey Armstrong (drums). The band's name comes from Max and Cole's teenage cousin Emily, who was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis in 1998 and has suffered from the disease her entire life. In tribute, the band adopted the name Emily's Army, which also happens to be the moniker for a fundraising organization in their cousin's honor. At a time when young bands are homogenized and tailor made for consumption and eventual regurgitation, Emily's Army is a breath of fresh air.
