Known throughout the world as the embodiment of New Orleans' musical legacy, six-time GRAMMY Award-winning musician and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee Dr. John will celebrate Mardi Gras with a special performance at Nashville's storied War Memorial Auditorium on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at 8:00 p.m.

Tickets are on sale now at WMARocks.com, by phone at (615) 782-4030 and at the TPAC Box Office, 505 Deaderick Street, in downtown Nashville.

This one-night-only event features two very special sets. Concertgoers will experience music that spans Dr. John's extensive discography: over fifty years of the legend's musical blend of voodoo mysticism, funk, rhythm & blues, psychedelic rock and Creole roots.

Dr. John & The Nite Trippers also will pay tribute to another larger-than-life New Orleans legend: Louis "Satchmo" Armstrong. This special set honors Armstrong's musical genius as well as his effervescent personality as the band celebrates the life and music of the jazz great.

This special set stems from Dr. John's Louis Armstrong tribute album: Ske-Dat-De-Dat: The Spirit of Satch, which debuted at #1 on Billboard Magazine's Jazz Chart, and made Best Albums of 2014 lists.

Dr. John says of his Ske-Dat-De-Dat's inspiration: "Louis Armstrong was the most famous guy who ever came out of my neighborhood. So it was special to me when he came to me in a dream and said: 'Do my music, but do it your way.'"

The night of festivities will be the best place to celebrate Fat Tuesday with friends, earn your Mardi Gras beads, and let the good times roll. As they say down in New Orleans, "laissez les bons temps rouler!"
