Now celebrating its seventh season, the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County is thrilled to present two-time Grammy Award-winning, multiple-platinum album jazz artist, Diana Krall. Currently travelling the globe as part of the 'Glad Rag Doll World Tour', Diana Krall will kick off the U.S. portion of her tour in Miami on April 2, 2013 at 8:00 p.m. in the acoustically superb John S. and James L. Knight Concert Hall.

Tickets to AN EVENING WITH Diana Krall range from $55 to $125*, and will go on sale to Arsht Center members beginning October 29, 2012 and the general public beginning November 5, 2012. Tickets may be purchased through the Adrienne Arsht Center box office by calling (305) 949-6722, or online at www.arshtcenter.org.

For her Arsht Center debut, the singer-pianist will wow audiences with new songs from her October 2012 release Glad Rag Doll as well as hits from her previous records such as 2009's critically-acclaimed Quiet Nights. In Glad Rag Doll, Diana Krall takes a major departure from her previous work and embarks on a natural progression as she revives some of her favorite tunes from the roaring '20s and '30s, and reinterprets them for the 21st century with an effortless sultry take.

"It is an honor for the Arsht Center to host Diana Krall's first U.S. tour date," said M. John Richard, President and CEO of the Adrienne Arsht Center. "South Florida fans will be the first to experience this iconic jazz artist's exhilarating new take on beloved classics in the Knight Concert Hall. We're certain that our city's passion for live music will be the perfect springboard for her much-anticipated national tour."

Currently sitting on the pinnacle of Billboard's Jazz Album chart and debuting at number six in the Billboard Top 200 chart, the T Bone Burnett produced Glad Rag Doll is a solid critic favorite with the Associated Press describing the album as "sexy, sly, intimate, and exhilarating" and Entertainment Weekly calling it "Enthralling!" The covered songs chosen for the album were carefully selected from Diana Krall's father's personal 78–r.p.m. records and song folios that she grew up listening to. Glad Rag Doll delivers great jazz and vaudeville classics such as Ray Charles' "Lonely Avenue," and "We Just Couldn't Say Goodbye" and "Just Like a Butterfly That's Caught in the Rain" both of which pay tribute to 20s singer Annette Hanshaw.
