Deb Brisson & The Hayburners Celebrate CD Release at Town Hall Theater Today
Middlebury, VT - Deb Brisson's big voice can do anything. She effortlessly moves from rock to folk to country, infusing all of her music with a deep, soulful sound. She's fronted for a number of local groups, including The Horse Traders, and she returns to one of her favorite venues to introduce her brand new band and a brand new CD.
The Hay Burners are Mark Pelletier on guitar, Peter Ryan on bass, and John Wallace on drums. Their new album, Heart Shaped Stone, was recorded in Middlebury. Many of the original songs have been kicking around in different forms and arrangements while these musicians were other bands, but have come to fruition with the spark of Deb Brisson on vocals.
After introducing the new songs on the CD, the floor will be cleared and the band will return for what they're calling a "rock-your-socks-off dance party," featuring some of the beat guest musicians and guest bands in the area. Joining the group will be Ten Rod Road, The Horse Traders, Clint Bierman, Carlos Velez, and a special brass section made up of members of Anne Severy's Jazz Ensemble.
"We're all about celebrating local talent", says THT executive director Douglas Anderson, "and this concert is going to showcase some of the most talented people I've ever known. Anyone who's ever heard Deb Brisson knows she has the pipes and presence of a real professional."
The CD release party and dance will be held at Middlebury's Town Hall Theater tonight, March 21 at 8pm. Tickets are $15 and tickets may be purchased at www.townhalltheater.org, (802) 382-9222, at the THT Box Office (daily except Sunday, noon-5 pm) or at the door. A cash bar and snacks will be available.
