Music icons Neil Diamond, Tom Waits, Dr. John and Alice Cooper, as well as Broadway veteran Darlene Love, will be the new inductees to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for 2011. They will be honored at a ceremony at Manhattan's Waldorf-Astoria on Monday, March 14. Leon Russell will also be awarded for musical excellence and nonperformer honors will go to Specialty label's Art Rupe and Elektra Records founder, Jac Holzman.

Love's Broadway credits include HAIRSPRAY, GREASE, CARRIE and LEADER OF THE PACK. Broadway viewers received a special treat last week when Love made a special appearance at Million Dollar Quartet's encore.

Of the nominees who did not make the cut were Bon Jovi, LL Cool J, Chic,. Beastie Boys, Joe Tex, Chuck Willis, Lauro Nyro, Geils Band, Donna Summer and Donovan.

Artists are eligible for Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominations 25 years after the release of their first single or album.
