Pianist Cyrus Chestnut, "The best jazz pianist of his generation" according to Time Magazine, will perform exceptional interpretations of Elvis Presley's greatest hits in Israel on March 27th - April 1st.

Chestnut's idea to connect between Elvis and Jazz is based on the Blues, Country and Gospel influences that are evident in Elvis's music. Presley's greatest hits receive exceptional interpretations by Chestnut who is known by his Jazz, Gospel and Bop styled improvisation skills - ones which he acquired throughout the years in which he played in church as a child. He believes that Jazz is a religious musical genre.

His sound is rich, full of emotion, is confident, and in many ways classical but still in the range of "classical" Jazz. He is an original and exciting example of refinement. Beyond his wonderful technical skills, the impression that he leaves through his rhythms and musical ideas are unforgettable, both on paper and during improvisation.

Following his Jazz Composition and Arranging degree studies at Berklee College of Music in Boston he began performing with jazz artists such as Jon Hendricks, trumpeter Terrence Blanchard, saxophonist Donald Harrison and jazz legends Wynton Marsalis, Dizzy Gillespie, Joe Lovano, Freddie Hubbard, Chick Corea, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and vocalists Vanessa Williams and Bette Midler, among many others.

Up until today Chestnut recorded 17 solo albums and many more as a guest pianist.
Among the hits he will perform in the shows: "Can't Help Falling in Love", "Love Me Tender", "It's Now or Never".
