Conchillia Set to Launch New EP HUNTER OR GATHERER on Today

With a globally infused, indie pop sound, Adelaide band Conchillia are on the cusp of launching their second EP "Hunter or a Gatherer" at the Producers Hotel on Saturday 9th April. Their new EP takes you on an eclectic skip around the globe's song writing centres, investigating traditions such as calypso, alligator blues, Spanish, Jazz and post pop narratives.

Gathering influences from around the world this new EP journeys from the Snorkel Faced light flippered days under the weightless Maldivian oceans with the taste of salt and cool oranges, through the Mexican Marriachi sounds of Hidden Tricks, the swampy alligator Southern blues of Numb to the lonely nights of strobed tragedy, timing the midnight ambulance sirens stalking the orchards of the hills - in memory of Courtney.

Since launching their debut EP in late 2014 Conchillia have gone from strength to strength regularly touring the east coast - Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and regional centres. Highlights from 2014 and 2015 have included performing at South Australia's Gorgeous Festival, Adelaide's Fringe Festival(SA), Peak Music Festival (NSW), Leaps & Bounds Music Festival(VIC), Semaphore Music Festival(SA), Eumundi Acoustic Festival (QLD), Coriole Spring Affair(SA), Adelaide's Vegan Festival (SA), Australia Music Week Festival (NSW), & receiving multiple nominations at the 2015 SA Music Awards. Conchillia's song 'Witchdoctor' enjoyed 3 weeks in the Top 10 AMRAP regional charts. This year they have performed at the Tour Down Under & at numerous shows under the Adelaide Fringe Festival umbrella, including Elevate Festival, Double Shot Coffee Fiesta & the Wilderness Society's 'Green Roots'. In March they perform at the National Folk Festival ahead of their 2nd EP launch in Adelaide at the Producers Hotel, followed by another hectic tour to Queensland in May.

Joining Conchillia for the party in the jungle will be special guests FLU (Funk Latin Union) with their South American signature sound and the talented Donnarumma.
