Oscar & Grammy-winning Composer Michel Legrand Discovery-Vocalist Laury Shelley Pays Tribute To Her Mentor with New Recording: The Windmills of Your Mind

Praised by Billboard Magazine as having "exciting vocal ability" and as "a singer of musical integrity," by Kevin Moore of WSBC Radio/Chicago, celebrated recording artist/vocalist/songwriter Laury Shelley announces the release of her newest recording effort: The Windmills of Your Mind.

Laury was discovered by three-time Oscar, five-time Grammy winning composer Michel Legrand (Barbra Streisand's Yentl, Lady Sings the Blues, The Summer of '42 & Brian's Song). So impressed by her talents, and calling her "a very talented singer," Legrand brought her on his tours for over five years as his concert vocal soloist. During that exciting time, Laury performed at the world's most prestigious concert venues including Carnegie Hall, The Sahara Hotel in Las Vegas , Red Rocks Amphitheater in Denver, Miami's Stars Under The Stars Concert Series at Marine Stadium and New York's The Westbury Theatre, as well as concert halls in Montreal, San Francisco and Los Angeles. It also gave her the opportunity to share stages with many musical icons including Tony Bennett, Buddy Rich and Cleo Laine.

Laury had a historic reunion with Michel Legrand at The Dakota Jazz Club in Minneapolis on his 2011/12 U.S. tour. Laury is also featured singing a duet with Legrand of the Academy Award nominated song Pieces of Dreams on the recordings Michel Legrand and Friends and the recently released CD Michel Legrand The RCA Years, that also includes musical luminaries Lena Horne and Jack Jones.

Now Laury pays tribute to her mentor, with her exciting new release, The Windmills of Your Mind. A remarkable remake of Legrand's Oscar and Grammy-winning classic from the Steve McQueen/Faye Dunaway film The Thomas Crown Affair. Laury's new version gives the song a thrilling, fresh approach and her stratospheric vocals will excite music lovers. Voice of America Radio says "Laury Shelley sings the heck out of this," and Russ Davis from MOJA Radio New York City called it "fine work from one of the great singers around today."

The full-length 6:42 masterpiece was arranged and produced by Shelley and Vijay Tellis-Nayak and is available now at iTunes, Amazon and all digital outlets.

Laury's 2011 release Pieces of Dreams received critical acclaim, international airplay and accolades that included being named "Artist of the Month" by WFLM Chicago's Smooth 87.7FM. She has also performed at some of the nation's top concert halls and music festivals including New York's Metropolitan Room, LA's Cinegrill and The Gardenia, Milwaukee's Summerfest and Chicago's Jazz Showcase, Jazz Festival and Taste of Chicago. She also performed her single Hide Your Love Away and Pieces of Dreams on the nationally televised CW/WGN America's Midday Show;

Her recordings, including her just released single The Windmills of Your Mind, are available on iTunes and all digital stores
