Cloud Cult is very excited to announce the May 1, 2015 national release of their new feature-length concert film, Unplug - Live at the Southern Theatre. News of the film's nationwide release along with news of the April 30th debut screening in Minneapolis at the Riverview Theatre broke yesterday via Minnesota Public Radio's The Current premiere of the film's trailer.

Some shows are so powerful that they feel like they will live on in our minds and hearts forever. For Cloud Cult, a trio of intimate acoustic shows they performed in Minneapolis back in December 2013 were such a smash success that they have been carefully recorded and preserved for posterity in a new film, "Unplug". - The Current

The Film is a distillation; twelve years of songwriting into seventy minutes of acoustic performance. What remains is a shared experience of honesty and vulnerability. Originally released a year ago as the band's first ever acoustic album aptly titled Unplug, there was always the plan to follow-up the audio with a feature-length film.

Unplug - Live at the Southern Theatre provides the viewer with a closer look into the band's creative process as well as including behind the scenes and interview footage from the concert. The songs took collective shape around campfires at the band's recording studio in the woods of Wisconsin and took stage at the Southern Theater in Minneapolis in December 2013.

The film was co-produced by Craig Minowa and Jeff D. Johnson and is the product of an eight-year collaborative relationship - one that has worked to create a space in which band and audience sit side by side.

Preorders of Unplug - Live at the Southern Theater are currently available athttp://cloudcult.com/cloud-cult-films and the audio is available in album format as CD or digital download from the band's website http://cloudcult.com. As for the debut screening of Unplug on April 30, 2015, again it's at the Riverview Theater in Minneapolis (3800 42nd Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55406) and will take place at 7pm. The screening will be followed by a Q&A and meet-and-greet with the band and film Director, Jeff D. Johnson. (All ages, $10). Tickets available at http://unplug-minneapolis.brownpapertickets.com/
