Cherish the Ladies Plays Mesa Arts Center Tonight

Cherish the Ladies, a Grammy-nominated, Irish-American, all-women band will perform at the Mesa Arts Center's Ikeda Theatre, tonight, March 11 at 7:30 p.m.

Cherish the Lades is under the leadership of All-Ireland flute and whistle champion Joanie Madden, who recently became the first Irish traditional musician to win the prestigious USA Fellowship Award from United States Artists. The performance by Cherish the Ladies will combine all facets of Irish traditional culture, through an abundance of instrumental talents, award-winning vocals, and precision step dancing.

Cherish the Ladies has received acclaim from BBC as the Best Musical Group of the Year, were named Top North American Celtic Group at the Irish Music Awards, Entertainment Group of the Year by the Irish Voice Newspaper, and given the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall's International Group of the Year Award from the Celtic Connections Festival in Scotland.

The group has collaborated with such musicians as The Boston Pops, The Clancy Brothers, the Chieftains, Vince Gill, Nanci Griffith, Pete Seeger, Don Henley, Arlo Guthrie, and Maura O'Connell as well as being the future soloist with over 250 nights of symphony orchestras.

The group continues to enchant audiences worldwide, performing with a roster of regional, national, and world champion step dancers.
