CapLive and the historic Strand-Capitol Performing Arts Center in downtown York welcome CapLive alum Josh Ritter to the Capitol Theatre on Saturday, May 30 at 8:00 p.m. Back by popular demand, the folk-leaning singer-songwriter is the newest addition to CapLive's eclectic lineup of nationally-known acts and up-and-coming performers. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Thursday, March 19 at 10:00 a.m.

Ritter was on his way to follow in the footsteps of his neuroscientist parents when he discovered Johnny Cash and Bob Dylan's "Girl from the North Country." He has since released seven studio albums and has been recently named one of the "100 best living songwriters" by Paste Magazine, alongside Dylan, Springsteen and Neil Young. Joan Baez has covered one of his songs, Stephen King named one of Ritter's albums "the best of recent years," and he has been requested by David Letterman twice, so far. Ritter is taking a break from recording his new album to perform some new songs live.

Joining Ritter as a special guest is bluegrass supergroup, Barnstar! Featuring some of Boston's best musicians and songwriters, and using familiar tools of the genre, the band forges its own brand of song-based bluegrass, gloriously harmonized and raucously played.

Tickets are $29.00 and go on sale to the general public on Thursday, March 19 at 10:00 a.m. Tickets may be purchased online at www.StrandCapitol.org, by calling the Strand-Capitol box office at 717-846-1111, or at the door the evening of the show.
