CELTIC WOMAN Comes to Morrison Center This June

Multi-platinum international music sensation, Celtic Woman, supports its newest album, Voices of Angels, with a world tour that "celebrates the music of the Emerald Isle with beauty and grace" (News & Observer). Receiving standing ovations with every performance, they are accompanied by an ensemble that includes Irish dancers, bagpipers and a full band playing an array of traditional Irish instruments.

The North American leg of the Voices of Angels tour visits 91 cities and runs March through the end of June. The tour set list includes popular favorites "Danny Boy," "Amazing Grace," "Mo Ghile Mear," plus the live debuts of "My Heart Will Go On" (Titanic), and "Time To Say Goodbye" (Romeo and Juliet) from the Voices of Angels album.

The tour has received rave reviews from fans and critics alike. The Columbus Dispatch described the show as "charming, spectacular and equivocally 'all things Irish'," while Cincinnati Arts declared "this performance is more than just an enjoyable evening of song and dance," it is "an emotional, powerful journey of music and girl power."

Celtic Woman has a remarkable 12-year-legacy of introducing the most talented singers and musicians from Ireland onto the world stage. The current group features an exciting line up of vocalists Susan McFadden, Mairéad Carlin, Éabha McMahon and new Celtic violinist Tara McNeill.

The group recently released stunning new videos of the iconic James Horner track "My Heart Will Go On" and classic Celtic ballad "Danny Boy." Recorded at Capitol Records' Studio A utilizing Frank Sinatra's microphone and Nat King Cole's piano, it was tapedwhen the group were in Los Angeles for the Grammy Awards. The video is the latest in the 1 mic 1 take series recorded at Studio A, described as "what happens when you take one artist, one mic, one iconic recording studio and give them one chance to show their raw talent."

The Voices of Angels album, released in November (Manhattan/Caroline), contains some of the most popular songs from the Celtic Woman repertoire, along with several previously unrecorded tracks, all with stunning new orchestral arrangements recorded with the 72-piece Orchestra of Ireland. The album debuted at #1 on the Billboard World Music chart and was the group's first album to reach #1 on the Billboard Classical chart.
