The Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza presents singer-songwriter-musician Brooke White at the Scherr Forum Theatre on Thursday, December 11, 2014 at 7:30 p.m.

Joining White will be The Bell Canto Ringers, a handbell choir consisting of 11 musicians from Agoura Hills, Newbury Park, Oak Park, Simi Valley and Westlake under the direction of Jodi Ream. The handbell choir will bring a distinctive sound to the Christmas Carols that White will be performing.

Whites' concert will feature songs from her holiday album, White Christmas as well as tunes from High Hopes & Heartbreak, yuletide classics and her favorite cover songs. Joining White for a song or two will be fellow Idol contestant Carly Smithson.

Before she appeared in the seventh season of American Idol, Brooke White cut her teeth as a singer/songwriter in the vein of Carly Simon and Carole King, two icons whose influence helped her earn a fifth place finish in the idol competition. The former nanny's first full length release High Hopes & Heartbreak released after the competition was a critical and commercial success.

After Nationwide tours and tv/radio appearances for High Hopes and Heartbreak, White took some time off from music to film her first movie Change of Plans, which aired on FOX. Change of Plans was White's first experience acting and a ratings success. In addition to acting in the film, White managed to write, record and perform three original songs in the movie and on the cd soundtrack. The songs were recorded and produced by Randy Jackson who teamed with the former American Idol finalist to executive produce her debut album.
