Birdland (315 West 44th Street – between 8th & 9th Aves.) is pleased to welcome Pablo Ziegler's "Tango Conexion" with Special Guest, Regina Carter, Tuesday through Saturday, July 24-28, 2012, to the legendary jazz venue. Performances are at 8:30 and 11:00 p.m.

Argentinian born modern tango composer Pablo Ziegler is celebrating 20 years of performing in the U.S. He has performed alongside the legendary Astor Piazzolla in Argentina and around the world and went on to carry forward the master's legacy upon his passing. His latest group, "Tango Conexion" taps into his modern and traditional tango world, but crosses it not only with jazz, but with classical – another part of Ziegler's musical experience. Regina Carter, world renowned jazz violinist will be his special guest and join his quartet Jisoo Ok (cello), Hector Del Curto (bandoneon), and Pedro Giraudo (bass), to debut several numbers composed by Ziegler. A great artist of versatility, Ziegler will take you on a virtuosic journey weaving in and out of his music and his own arrangements of Astor Piazzolla. This event is produced by Pat Philips and Ettore Stratta.
