Portland Ovations presents Big Nate at Merrill Auditorium on November 8 at 11am for a family series performance recommended for children 5-13 years of age.

Based on the nationally syndicated comic strip and best-selling books by Portlander Lincoln Peirce, Big Nate follows the trials and travails of Nate Wright, a detention-riddled sixth grader as he attempts to woo the beautiful Jenny away from her boyfriend Artur by winning his school's Battle of the Bands. Set to an energetic rock and roll soundtrack with such highlights as "Even Year-Old Cheez Doodles Are Better Than Love," and featuring sets and costumes inspired by Peirce's drawings, this "homage...strike's just the right rockstar- worthy note" (The Washington Post).

Bring your Big Nate books to the performance and have them signed by author Lincoln Peirce after the performance.

Tickets for Big Nate are $12 for the general public. To purchase tickets, visit www.portlandovations.org, contact PortTIX at 207-842-0800 or stop by the box office window at Merrill Auditorium.
