Award-Winning Swedish Singer Viktoria Tocca Releases First Single from New Album 'We're Still Young'

Multi International award-winning Swedish singer/songwriter Viktoria Tocca, who won 14 Indie Music Channel Awards (IMCA) in 2012 and 2013, including "Artist of the Year," announced that the first single from her new all-English album currently being recorded in New York City - titled We're Still Young -- is available for purchase and streaming on iTunes, Amazon, Google and Spotify:

Viktoria, whose voice has been described by critics "as being one of the most beautiful of our generation," has written We're Still Young with Tony Coluccio, who is also producing and engineering the new (still untitled) album at GMM/City Beats Studio in New York City. She describes the song as "a happy, 'kick your shoes off and enjoy life song, something right for the summer and for anyone young at heart." Her debut album, all in Swedish and titled Se Mig ("See Me"), was released in 2006. Her first English language single, Dark Waltz, won the award for "Best Classical" at the 2011 Hollywood Music in Media Awards and now has over 200 000 views on YouTube.

This past April 29, Viktoria performed at the 115th Birthday Bash in NYC for Duke Ellington, personally invited by Ellington's granddaughter Mercedes Ellington, the famed dancer/choreographer who is founder and President of the Duke Ellington Center for the Arts in New York City.

Viktoria, who sings in many languages, will embark on a concert tour in Germany in June, performing at venues in Oberhausen on June 7, Stuttgart on June 8 and Berlin on June 15.

Viktoria Tocca (born Krantz) grew up in Stockholm, Sweden, where she started her musical journey at the Adolf Fredrik School of Music at the age of ten. Thereafter she attended the Ballet Academy in Gothenburg, where she graduated the musical theatre program in 1998. Her first job was as Rapunzel in Stephen Sondheim's musical Into the Woods. She then went on to understudy the role of Evita in the Swedish production of the musical. She landed her first role abroad as Sissi, Empress of Austria, in the world premiere of the musical Ludwig II in Germany in 2000.

After eighteen months, rave reviews and several hundred performances, she was handpicked to play the lead, Christine, in Andrew Lloyd Webber's masterpiece The Phantom of the Opera in Copenhagen, Denmark, performing the role in Danish. Once again it was a huge success for the young Swedish singer, who ended up playing close to 200 performances in the demanding role and still remains one of the favorite "Christines" among the huge number of dedicated Phantom fans all over the world!

Viktoria's recordings were included in many CD compilations, she sang with the National Symphony Orchestra and recorded in the famous Abbey Road Studios in London. Her recordings are heard on Swedish radio charts with songs like I Ljus och Mörker, a duet with Swedish singer Martin Stenmarck, Som en Saga , a song that has become a huge wedding favorite in Sweden, and Stanna Kvar which was the first single from her debut album released in 2006.

She was invited to sing at major sporting events, such as the European Figure Skating Championships 2003, where she performed on the ice during the exhibition gala, seen by more than 350 million TV viewers Live! She also wrote, recorded and performed the official song for the 2007 Stockholm International Horse Show. In 2007/08 she participated in the TV show West End Star on Sweden's TV3.
