The Grammy-nominated early music ensemble Ars Lyrica Houston continues its biggest season yet with ¡Felices Fiestas! concert and gala tonight, December 31, 2014 at the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts. This festive evening of celebration and beautiful music is a perfect way to celebrate the new year.

In a first for Ars Lyrica, the ¡Felices Fiestas! concert (at 9 pm in Zilkha Hall) includes Spanish and Latin American Baroque classics. Mezzo-soprano Cecilia Duarte, soprano Melissa Givens and tenor Eduardo Tercero join Grammy-nominated guitarist Richard Savino for this holiday-inspired program. Guests will enjoy music by some of Spain's great Baroque composers, including Juan Hidalgo and Antonio de Salaza. Ars Lyrica's annual fundraising gala events surround the concert, with dinner and cocktails at 8 pm and a champagne and dessert gala continuing the festivities until midnight. Gala events, including the silent auction, benefit Ars Lyrica's community and educational outreach and take place in the Hobby Center's Sarofim Hall Grand Lobby, which boasts a spectacular vista of the downtown Houston skyline.

Tickets for the performance start at $37. Students may purchase tickets for only $22 (with valid ID). Tickets for both the dinner and the champagne gala events are purchased separately, with discounted packages beginning at only $95, a price that includes a ticket to the concert. Enjoy the entire evening (pre-concert dinner, concert, and the post-concert champagne gala) for only $160.
