Anna Kendrick On Johnny Depp's Star Power & Meryl Streep's 'Last Midnight' In INTO THE WOODS
Popular Hollywood star and Broadway baby Anna Kendrick opens up about her experience filming Rob Marshall's hotly anticipated stage-to-screen adaptation of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's celebrated fairy tale-themed musical INTO THE WOODS, starring Meryl Streep and Johnny Depp, as part of a new interview.
Kendrick describes arriving in the recording studio to witness none other than Johnny Depp laying down vocals in his role as The Wolf as well as experiencing Meryl Streep create movie musical magic before her very eyes performing the showstopping "Last Midnight" onset of the film at Pinewood Studios.
Commenting on Depp, Kendrick relates, "I didn't see Johnny sing - I met him in the recording studio and ran away from him because he is that kind of famous that you are like, 'Oh my God, I'm repelled!' And, he's obviously incredibly sweet, but I was like, 'I should not be in this room!'"
As for Streep, Kendrick shares, "I was onset for watching Meryl sing 'Last Midnight', which is, you know, kind of her swan song, I guess. It was so intense!"
"We were just the goons in the room, which was incredible," Kendrick concludes of the experience.
INTO THE WOODS is set to be released on December 25, 2014.
