Platinum Award-winning writer/vocalist Ann Hampton Callaway graces the stage at Abravanel Hall this weekend, February 14 and 15 at 8 p.m. and joins the Utah Symphony and Principal Pops Conductor Jerry Steichen for "The Streisand Songbook," a production featuring classic hits made famous by Barbra Streisand. Tickets, priced from $18 to $69 ($10 for students), are available for purchase through www.utahsymphony.org or by calling (801) 355-2787.

Recently named the "Performer of the Year" at the 2014 Broadway World New York Cabaret Awards, Ann Hampton Callaway is a dedicated singer, songwriter and performer who wrote and sang the theme song to the hit TV series The Nanny.

Ms. Callaway has written songs featured on 5 of Barbra Streisand's latest CD releases. She is the only living composer to have collaborated with Cole Porter, and she has also written songs with Carole King, Rolf Lovland and Barbara Carroll. Known as one of America's most gifted improvisers, Ms. Callaway takes words and phrases from her audiences and creates songs on the spot, whether alone at a piano or with a symphony orchestra.

The New York Times compared Ms. Callaway and Barbra Streisand, saying, "The two share a fundamental, unshakable romanticism. Both favor overarching, dramatic love songs, and both have the vocal equipment to infuse them with fairy tale magic."

Ms. Calloway's past performances of "The Streisand Songbook" have included Cry Me a River," "The Way We Were," "Somewhere," "Don't Rain on My Parade" and "People." The songs for this performance will be announced from the stage.
