After eight years and more than 800 shows, Texas-born, Brooklyn-based Aly Tadros is set to deliver Hungry Ghost on December 2. In celebration of her third, crowd-sourced project, the songstress and accomplished writer will hit the stage at Joe's Pub tonight at 9pm and shares not one, but two tracks -- "Your Escape" and "Silence of the City" -- in advance of release week.
Lust letter "Your Escape", which premiered via Impose Magazine, delivers a brooding invitation away from reality and into intimate fantasy. Premiering with Elmore Magazine, "Silence of the City" is an ethereal piano ballad about the simultaneous stillness and hope one finds as a rookie in the Big Apple. The latter couldn't come at a more nostalgic time for Tadros, who is returning to the location of her first NYC show where the Village Voice dubbed her "one of the best local live acts" in 2013.

Produced by Kevin Salem (Rachael Yamagata, Yo la Tengo, Mike Doughty) and Tadros herself, Hungry Ghost is an tangible example of an unabashed attitude towards living and creating. Borrowed from Buddhism, the title represents insatiable creatures with crippling appetites for things outside their bodies. For Tadros, constant touring, performing and drinking in her early career failed in giving her fulfillment, but emotionally charged her new 13-track LP.

Tadros' candidly wears her heart on her musical sleeve and injects a fresh artistry to her folk-pop, something that's landed her critical acclaim from American Songwriter, Interview Magazine, Paste, USA Today, MTV, The Village Voice and a long list of other respected voices in music. Her Egyptian roots paired with a deep appreciation for Latin American and Middle Eastern music can be traced to the traditional Mexican vihuela and other myriad of instruments that join her on stage and in the studio and bring her textured folk, pop and rock to life.
