Brian Wilson, the legendary co-founder of The Beach Boys who is already set to perform at the Gallo Center for the Arts this fall, will have a special guest at his concert, it was revealed today. Wilson is to be joined in the performance by another founding member of the rock band, Al Jardine.

"We are thrilled to get the news," said Gallo Center CEO Lynn Dickerson. "It is an honor just to be able to present Brian Wilson, but to have two legends performing makes this concert very special indeed."

The concert is Thursday, October 9, at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $59 to $119, and may be purchased online at www.galloarts.org, by calling 209-338-2100, or from the Gallo Center ticket office at 1000 I Street in downtown Modesto.

Wilson, who has been called "the Mozart of Rock," was barely out of his teens when he began to create such hits as "Surfer Girl," "In My Room," "I Get Around," "Don't Worry Baby," "Help Me Rhonda," "California Girls," "Sloop John B," "God Only Knows," and "Good Vibrations." They were among more than two dozen Top 40 hits Wilson co-wrote, arranged, produced and performed with his brothers Carl and Dennis, cousin Mike Love, and Jardine.

Jardine was a guitarist and singer with The Beach Boys for more than 30 years. A core member of the group through its most productive and influential period, he recorded 25 studio albums with the band and was the lead vocalist on a number of their songs, including "Help Me, Rhonda," "Then I Kissed Her," "I Know There's an Answer" and "Lady Lynda."

For this concert, Wilson, Jardine and their band will perform many of The Beach Boys' hits, plus songs that are fan favorites but not heard that often live.
