"Love is a Journey," is out now for general online sale via www.africanchildrenschoir.com and iTunes, and has already received high praise winning a Gold Medal at the recent Mom's Choice Awards.

The album was recorded at the African Children's Choir Primary School in Entebbe, Uganda. There, Texan singer/songwriter, Sara Hickman, worked with a group of children from the school to write tracks featured on this stunning album, highlighting not only the children's incredible singing talent, but also their ability to write beautiful music.

Long-time supporter of the African Children's Choir, Lynne Dobson, was the driving force behind the creation of the album, introducing Sara to this inspirational organization.

When talking about her first experience with the African Children's Choir Lynne says, "My life was changed immeasurably in 2002 when I first heard an African Children's Choir concert and decided to sponsor a 12-year old girl from Northern Uganda... I always knew Sara would love them, too."

About the creation of "Love is a Journey" Sara Hickman beamed, "Making music with the incredibly talented African Children's Choir, who wrote several of the songs, and working with the gifted African musicians I met, captures the essence of what the world could be. A world of harmony, compassion and togetherness."

All proceeds of the album will go towards the essential education and relief projects run by Music for Life.

Music for Life is the official fundraising charity of the African Children's Choir and works in seven African countries. Music for Life has educated over 52,000 children as well as impacted the lives of over 100,000 children through its relief and development programs during its 30 year history; creating ChangeMakers for the future of Africa.

The African Children's Choir travels the world, acting as the ambassador for Africa's most in need children - raising much needed awareness and funds for the education of the continent's most vulnerable children, as well as their own education, as they go. They have performed on popular television shows such as The Ellen DeGeneres Show, The Tonight Show and the live finale of American Idol Season 6, as well as singing at prestigious live events such as 2012's Diamond Jubilee Concert for the Queen of England.

Sara Hickman has garnered recognition as a captivating singer/songwriter, vocalist and musician, with artists such as Shawn Colvin, the Flatlanders, Robert Earl Keen, Willie Nelson and many others covering her songs. Alongside her own sensitive yet fearless material including her latest album "Shine" Sara has been a guest performer on at least 25 albums by other recording artists. Hickman has toured with Billy Bragg, Dan Fogelberg and Nanci Griffith, and has opened for other artists including the Decemberists, John Hiatt and Lucinda Williams.
