Maroon 5 frontman and THE VOICE coach Adam Levine is teaming up with THE VOICE executive producer Audrey Morrissey to create a new songwriting competition show for NBC. The show, called SONGLAND, will compete everyday people against each other to create the next big hit and pitch the song to the industry's most renowned producers.

SONGLAND will draw attention to the UNSUNG heroes in the music business; the songwriters. In many cases, songwriters are able to draw revenue in multiple ways from their work, and hold a lot of power over their work. The show will allow average people to try their hand at the craft.

Grammy award-winning songwriter Dave Stewart will be executive producer on the project. He is best known for his work with Eurythmics, and is a three-time winner of the Best British Producer Award at the Brits. SONGLAND'S pilot will also be produced by Live Animals in association with Dave Stewart Entertainment and Levine's own record label, 222 Productions.
