9-Time Grammy Winner Norah Jones Announced as Headliner of Oaktopia Festival

Oaktopia Music & Art Festival (Oaktopia), North Texas' premiere independent music and entertainment event, today announced that Norah Jones is joining the Oaktopia lineup for her first performance in Denton, Texas, since attending the esteemed College of Music at University of North Texas as a jazz piano major. On September 23, 2016, Norah will grace the Oaktopia stage by the downtown Denton square, near her star on the town's Arts Walk of Fame.

Norah Jones has earned nine Grammy Awards, sold more than 45 million albums worldwide and was named Billboard Magazine's top jazz artist of the 2000-2009 decade.

"We are excited to have Norah return to Denton as a headlining performer at Oaktopia," said Midlake's Eric Pulido, friend and Oaktopia Director. "Norah's music catalog is outstanding and her live performances are incredible. It's going to be a very special night indeed!"

Norah joins an incredible line-up of performers, including Beirut, Rae Sremmurd, Dr. Dog and Erykah Badu performing a DJ set, Best Coast, Wavves and Andrew W.K. among numerous others.
