For four and a half decades, Bumbershoot has served as Seattle's annual end-of-summer party a celebration of music, art and creativity held beneath the iconic Space Needle in downtown Seattle. This year's festival offers several exciting changes, including two mainstage locations (Memorial Stadium and KeyArena) and a new non-profit sponsor in the Center for Infectious Disease Research (CIDR) http://www.CIDresearch.org.

"Bumbershoot exemplifies Seattle's urban creativity," said Seattle Mayor Ed Murray. "This year's event reflects new energy, new venues and a fantastic line up. I look forward to seeing everyone at what will be an amazing festival."

"Our team is thrilled to be a part of the 2015 festival," says Rob Thomas, Vice President, AEG Live Pacific Northwest. "With guidance from previous Bumbershoot producers, we are taking the best from the past and pushing that vision into the future. The 45 th year is going to be an amazing celebration."

"Bumbershoot is part of the heart and soul of our city, so I'm thrilled to be working with a team who treasures and values Bumbershoot's unique character and shares the same vision to make it beautiful and inspiring for all who attend," says Heather Smith, Interim Executive Director of long-time producer One Reel.

"Before directing and presenting Teatro Zinzanni, I had the great honor of producing the Festival for many decades," says One Reel founder Norm Langill. "While I haven't been involved in several years, I was happy to hear that One Reel was teaming up with AEG Live again to make the Festival happen this year. Bumbershoot is part of our creative city's DNA."

"We are proud to be part of the team that mounts such an epic event every year," says Seattle Center Director Robert Nellams. "We look forward to the success of this extraordinary urban arts experience long into the future."

New this year is the inclusion of the Center for Infectious Disease Research (formerly Seattle BioMed) as the official non-profit sponsor. As part of the partnership, AEG Live will donate a portion of each ticket sold to the organization and encourage fans to do the same, helping spread global health awareness.

"We're thrilled to be partnering with both AEG Live and Bumbershoot," says Edward Jenkins, Director of Marketing and Communications for the Center for Infectious Disease Research, "Bumbershoot is a Seattle institution as is the Center for Infectious Disease Research - we've both been a part of the community for nearly 40 years. And, AEG and its artists have a rich history of supporting non-profits all across the country. We couldn't be happier to pilot this new type of partnership with them and we look forward to their support in our mission of finding cures for some of the world's most deadly infectious diseases that claim the lives of nearly 14 million people every year."

Bumbershoot was established in 1971 as a city festival and has grown into one of America's most respected annual celebrations of art and culture. It continually leverages the best of Seattle's art scenes, showcasing the rich and diverse talent of the Pacific Northwest alongside national and international acts. Bumbershoot's diverse programming includes live music, comedy, theatre, film, visual arts, children's programming and more. Visit bumbershoot.com for more information.
