2nd Annual California Roots: The Carolina Sessions Set for This September

The 2nd annual California Roots: The Carolina Sessions Festival will take place at Battleship Park in Wilmington, NC from September 13-14, 2014. The impressive lineup includes 19 bands all making their debut to The Carolina Sessions Festival including headliners Matisyahu and Rebelution. This past May, The California Roots Music and Arts Festival at the historic Monterey County Fairgrounds drew record attending crowds and brought the progressive US Reggae scene to international acclaim.

Festival Director Dan Sheehan enthusiastically states, "The success of our west coast flagship festival exceeded all of our expectations this year! We work year-round on Cali Roots and we put a ton of pressure on ourselves to deliver the best experience for everyone involved - fans, staff, bands, and volunteers. We've set the bar really high & that pushes us to keep growing and evolving. The Carolina Sessions is like Cali Roots' younger brother - it's got a lot of the same characteristics as Cali Roots, but is still seeking it's own path in the world, learning from experiences, finding its own identity. We intend on bringing the same good Cali vibes with us to North Carolina with a little east coast twist!"

California Roots: The Carolina Sessions seamlessly combines music, art and environmental consciousness to create an atmosphere of unity, peace and creative flow. From the bands and artists that grace the stages, to the beautiful setting of Battleship Park overlooking downtown Wilmington, NC and the Cape Fear River, every aspect of the festival has been planned to make for the most positive experience for each and every fan.

Based on the success of last year's inaugural Carolina Sessions festival, organizers listened to many fans suggest that more bands would make for an even better experience this time around and added a second day. With double the bands on two stages over the course of a weekend, tickets are already going quickly.
