Raue Center For The Arts is excited to welcome the award-winning duo Switchback at 7 p.m. on March 5, 2017. Switchback draws on traditional Celtic music and original Americana songs that reflect their Irish heritage and midwestern origins to create a unique sound with American roots and Celtic soul.

Switchback has been performing their eclectic blend of Celtic and Americana music at sold-out concert halls, performing arts centers and festivals around the world for over 20 years. The duo of Brian Fitzgerald and Martin McCormack plays an exciting mix of mandolin, guitar and bass, and their harmonies have won them comparisons to famous duos like the Louvin Brothers, the Everly Brothers and Simon and Garfunkel.

Their Celtic music is authentically Irish, drawing praise from traditional Irish musicians including Matt Molloy of The Chieftains and earning the duo appearances on RTE (Raidió Teilifís Éireann). At the same time, Switchback's Celtic music remains modern and captures the Ireland of today, earning comparisons to The Pogues and singer-songwriter Christy Moore.

Switchback has also drawn upon their midwestern roots to craft a unique Americana sound. The duo worked with Grammy Award-winning producer Lloyd Maines on three of their albums, with Maines calling Switchback one of the most important acts playing Americana music today. They have also been working with Paul Mertens, who arranged "BrIan Wilson Reimagines Gershwin," on orchestral scores for some of their original music.

Tickets start at $25 and are available online at rauecenter.org or via the Box Office at 815.356.9212 or 26 N. Williams Street in downtown Crystal Lake.
