Media mogul, Oscar winner and TV host Oprah Winfrey accepted the ALS ice bucket challenge yesterday and paid it forward by challenging some of her famous friends to take on the charitable feat.

Said Winfrey just moments before BFF Gayle King dumped a bucket of ice over her head:

"Thank you Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Tyler Perry and Nancy O'Dell for challenging me. I challenge Steven Spielberg, Dame Helen Mirren and Manish Dayal. In the name of ALS...."

The ALS challenge, which dares people to either donate to the cause or dump a bucket of ice-cold water over their heads, was originally started by the ALS Association in July. It quickly garnered national attention through social media as well as the participation of top celebrities who have challenged each other to take on the dare.

Winfrey is best known for her multi-award-winning talk show The Oprah Winfrey Show which was the highest-rated program of its kind in history and was nationally Syndicated from 1986 to 2011. Dubbed the "Queen of All Media", she was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Barack Obama and an honorary doctorate degree from Harvard.

She will reportedly make her Broadway debut opposite six-time Tony Award winner Audra McDonald in Marsha Norman's two-character drama, 'Night, Mother' during the 2015-16 season.
