William H. Macy, Joan Allen Join Cast of ROOM

According to Deadline, William H. Macy, Joan Allen and Jacob Tremblay have signed on to join Brie Larsen in the upcoming film adaptation of Emma Donoghue's 2010 novel ROOM. Lenny Abrahamson directs the film for Element Pictures and No Trace Camping, which is currently shooting.

Per the report, the film follows "Ma, a woman kidnapped as a teenager who has been held captive for years in a tiny room where she lives with her 5-year-old son Jack. To the boy, it's the only home he's ever known. But as Jack's curiosity is building alongside Ma's own desperation, she knows that room cannot contain either indefinitely."

Joan Allen, is a founding member of the Steppenwolf Theatre Company, who, since 1977, has performed in numerous productions including Cloud Nine, Of Mice and Men, Waiting for Lefty, Reckless, Love Letters and Say Goodnight, Gracie. Broadway credits: Impressionism, Burn This (Tony® Award); Heidi Chronicles (Tony® Nomination). Off-Broadway credits: The Marriage Of Bette and Boo; And A Nightingale Sang (Clarence Derwent, Drama Desk, Outer Critic's Circle and Theater World Awards); Heidi Chronicles (Playwrights Horizons).
