This really couldn't get any cooler: Chet Williamson, a well-known local actor who has appeared in many theatrical productions and is heavily involved in local guerrilla theatre company Creative Works of Lancaster, PA, now has his own film festival, produced by the Ware Center.

His latest film "Christmas with the Dead", produced and based on a story by Joe R. Lansdale and shot in Texas, will be shown in its Pennsylvania premiere today, December 16, at the Ware Center as part of "The Chet Williamson Film Festival". In addition to the "Dead", the festival will also feature an award-winning short based on a story written by Williamson. The movies are introduced by Williamson at 2 p.m. and are followed by a short question and answer period and then a reception with the actor/writer and his fans.

Short Film: Gandhi at the Bat is an 11-minute mock newsreel based on Chet Williamson's oft-reprinted New Yorker short story of the same name. In the fictional story, Mohandas K. Gandhi made a top-secret trip to the United States in 1933 with hilarious results. Don't miss this multi-award winning short film!

Independent Feature: Christmas with the Dead is a tongue-in-cheek zombie story with a heart (and other organs). In his quest to fulfill a promise made to his wife, Calvin sets out to right his wrongs and make it the best Christmas ever. If only it weren't June and the majority of the population, including his wife and daughter, hadn't returned from the dead as flesh-eating snappers in search of hot human lunches, he'd be in pretty good shape. Chet has a featured role in the film and does NOT play a zombie. (He plays a crazed preacher.) It's funny and touching at the same time.
