THE WALKING DEAD's Chandler Riggs and SUPER 8' Joel Courtney are set to star in the upcoming adaptation of Stephen King's MERCY.

Peter Cornwell (THE HAUNTING IN CONNECTICUT) is helming film for Blumhouse and Wonderland Sound and Vision, while Universal will release the film. Jason Blum and McG and Mary Viola of Wonderland are set to produce. Matt Greenberg penned the script.

MERCY, based upon King's short story GRAMMA, follows two brothers, now officially to be played by Riggs and Courtney, who move with their mother to take care of their ailing grandmother - little do they know, their grandma's a witch. Frances O'Connor (AI: Artificial Intelligence) will play the boys' mother.

Riggs is best known for his role of Carl Grimes, son of main character Rick, on AMC's THE WALKING DEAD. Courtney made his debut in J.J. Abrams' SUPER 8, and can most recently be seen in the independent drama Tom Sawyer & HUCKLEBERRY FINN.
