CNN has just unveiled an exclusive interview with Sony Entertainment CEO Michael Lynton, in which the exec responded to President Obama's remarks that the studio "made a mistake" by nixing its release of THE INTERVIEW after facing threats from hackers. watch!

In the interview, Lynton discussed how the studio had not "given in" or "backed down" to the threats and mentioned the potential future release of the controversial film. He also expressed disappointment in the president's statements.

Soon after, Sony released the statement: "It is still our hope that anyone who wants to see this movie will get the opportunity to do so."

The FBI confirmed earlier today that North Korea was behind the cyber attacks on Sony.

THE INTERVIEW follows Dave Skylark (James Franco) and his producer Aaron Rapoport (Seth Rogen) run the popular celebrity tabloid TV show "Skylark Tonight." When they discover that North Korean leader Kim Jong-un is a fan of the show, they land an interview with him in an attempt to legitimize themselves as journalists. As Dave and Aaron prepare to travel to Pyongyang, their plans change when the CIA recruits them, perhaps the two least-qualified men imaginable, to assassinate Kim Jong-un.
