VIDEO: Sally Field on Upcoming Sequel: 'I Could Be 'MR. DOUBTFIRE'


Oscar winning actress Sally Field spoke to MTV News on the red carpet of the premiere of "The Amazing Spider-Man 2," in which she portrays Peter Parker's Aunt May. 

During the interview, Field was asked if she would consider being involved in the recently announced sequel to the hit comedy Mrs. Doubtfire. Joked Field, "I could be Mr. Doubtfire!" Check out the interview below!

As BWW recently reported, Robin Williams may reprise his iconic role of 'Mrs. Doubtfire' in an upcoming sequel from Fox 2000. According to the report, Chris Columbus will helm the project from a script by David Berenbaum ('Elf').

The 1993 comedy starred Williams (who also served as co-producer) and Sally Field and was based on the novel Alias Madame Doubtfire by Anne Fine. It was directed by Chris Columbus and distributed by 20th Century Fox.

Williams portrayed a struggling actor and recently divorced father of three children who took on the character of a Scottish nanny Euphegenia Doubtfire, in order to see his children more often. The film earned $219 million domestically and $222 million internationally and won Williams a Golden Globe for best actor in a musical/comedy. The film won the Globe for best comedy/musical and placed 67th in the American Film Institute's 100 Years, 100 Laughs: America's Funniest Movies, a list of the 100 funniest movies of the 20th century.
