Ellen DeGeneres - Opens The Oscars 2014 by IdolxMuzic

OSCAR host Ellen DeGeneres knocked it out of the ballpark on last night's live broadcast of the 86th Annual Academy Awards. From ordering in pizza for audience members to crashing Twitter with her all-star selfie, the funnylady was calm and cool as she took over the reigns of Hollywood's biggest night.

"I hosted for the first time seven years ago," quipped DeGeneres right off the bat. "I am so honored that they had me back so quickly."

She then went on to mock Hollywood's keen focus on a bit of precipitation which prompted an elaborate tenting system to cover the red carpet. "For those of you watching around the world, it has been a tough couple of days for us here," she said. "It's been raining. We're fine. Thank you for your prayers."

Pointing out this year's nominees sitting in the audience, DeGeneres found Captain Phillips star Barkhad Abdi. "He's from Somalia, and he's a sommelier," she explained, "He knows a lot of about wine. Who's the wine captain now?"
