Derek McLane, a Tony Award-winning set designer was chosen by Craig Zadan and Neil Meron to design the sets for The Oscars.

McLane previously worked with Zadan and Meron on the 2011 Broadway revival of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, starring Daniel Radcliffe. In addition to his Tony win for 33 Variations starring Jane Fonda, he was nominated for his designs on The Pajama Game starring Harry Connick, Jr., Ragtime and Anything Goes.

McLane is currently represented on Broadway by his sets for the musical Nice Work If You Can Get It, starring Matthew Broderick and Kelli O'Hara; the play revival The Heiress with Jessica Chastain, David Strathairn and Dan Stevens and the upcoming play Breakfast at Tiffany's. His work can been seen across the country in the national tour of Roundabout Theatre Company's Tony Award-winning musical Anything Goes (currently in Dallas).
