Tom Hanks & Steven Spielberg to Partner on Upcoming Cold War Thriller
Variety is reporting that Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg will once again collaborate for a yet-to-be titled Cold War thrilller for DreamWorks. According to the report, Spielberg will helm the project from a script written by Matt Charman and co-produce along with Marck Platt.
Hanks would portray James Donovan, described as "a prominent American attorney enlisted by the CIA during the Cold War to slip behind the iron curtain to negotiate the release of a pilot captured when his U-2 spy plane was shot down over Russia."
Dreamworks has not commented on the report.
Hanks, currently filming the indie "A Hologram for the King," was most recently seen on the big screen in Disney's SAVING MR. BANKS. In 2013, he received a Tony nomination for his role in Nora Efron's Lucky Guy. The show marked the actor's Broadway debut.
