According to Fandango, the nation's leading moviegoing destination, the highly-anticipated superhero flick, "The Wolverine," is the number one movie fans want to see this weekend -- scoring a sizable 91 out of 100 points on the company's Fanticipation buzz indicator.

"The Wolverine" is grabbing 51% of today's advance sales on Fandango, and is outpacing "X-Men: First Class" by 39% at the same point in that film's sales cycle.

Based on a survey of more than 1,000 "Wolverine" ticket purchasers on Fandango:
91% have seen the previous "X-Men" and "Wolverine" movies
73% would not want to see a "Wolverine" film without Hugh Jackman in the title role
70% say the exotic setting has increased their interest in seeing the movie
A whopping 95% cannot wait to see the follow-up film, "X-Men: Days of Future Past" (2014)

On this week's episode of Fandango's movie recommendation video series, "Weekend Ticket" (www.fandango.com/weekendticket), host Dave Karger interviews "Wolverine" star Hugh Jackman about his sixth time playing the Marvel creation, declaring they'll have to "pry this role right out of my hands - or the claws."

About Fandango's Fanticipation
Known for having its finger on the pulse of moviegoers, Fandango's movie buzz indicator, Fanticipation, provides statistical insight into the movies fans are planning to see in a given weekend. Fanticipation scores (based on a 1 to 100-point scale) are calculated via an algorithm of Fandango's advance ticket sales, website and mobile traffic, and social media engagement.
