Alejandro Gonzalez Innaritu has recruited some high-caliber names for his latest project, BIRDMAN.

Emma Stone, Naomi Watts, Michael Keaton, and Zach Galifianakis have officially signed on to star in the dark comedy produced by Fox Searchlight and New Regency, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The film, penened by Innaritu, Armando Bo, Alexander Dinelaris, and Nicolas Giacobone, follows a down and out actor (Keaton), "who once played an iconic superhero, as he mounts a Broadway play based on a Raymond Chandlershort story in a bid to reclaim past glory. However, the play's egotistical leading man threatens to throw everything down the tubes," according to the report.

Stone is set to take on the role of Keaton's daughter, who's just out of rehab. Watts will be the star of the play, and Galifianakis plays the role of the play's producer.

The studios are reportedly prepping the film to begin production this April. As of now, a release date has yet to be announced.
