Soundtrack Album to Horror Film BENEATH Coming 7/16

Milan Records will release the soundtrack for BENEATH, the new horror thriller, directed by horror icon Larry Fessenden (The Last Winter, Habit), on Tuesday, July 16th. The Original Motion Picture Soundtrack features new music by Will Bates of Fall on Your Sword (with additional music by Graham Reznick and Shilpa Ray). The movie, distributed by ChillerFilms will open in select theaters on July 16th.

"Having grown up in a family of horror movie actors, I have always wanted to score a film like Beneath," Bates mentions. "It's in my blood, I guess. I had been following the work of Glass Eye for some time, and working with Larry was a real joy - a truly collaborative process. I think we made something really special together."

Beneath is written by Tony Daniel and Brian D. Smith and produced by Fessenden and Peter Phok for Glass Eye Pix (Stake Land, The Innkeepers, I Sell The Dead). The movie follows a group of young friends, commemorating their high school graduation, on a trip to the remote Black Lake. Their celebration turns into a nightmare with the sudden appearance of a bloodthirsty, underwater predator. Stuck in a leaking boat with no oars, the teens face the ultimate tests of friendship and sacrifice during a terror-stricken fight for survival.

"The tone of Beneath is particularly tricky, as I was going for sincerity and satire, melancholy and menace all skewed with a certain heightened reality that places the story in the realm of allegory," says film director Fessenden. He adds, "I'm particularly fond of the album Will [Bates] has put together here because he lets some of the musical ideas hinted at in the film breathe".
