Oscar-winning actress and Broadway veteran Shirley MacLaine was the keynote speaker at Sautrday's New Mexico School for the Arts graduation.

MacLaine was welcomed to the stage with a standing ovation but swiftly shifted the attentions to the stars of he day, the 48 graduates themselves. "It's not a Morning about me," the actress told the senior class. "It's a Morning about you."

During the speech, MacLaine, herself a part-time resident of Santa Fe, told the students "There's nothing more important than imagination. And that's what creates knowledge and what creates your sensibilities about yourself." She went on to advise, "If you live your life as if it is show business, it's a whole lot easier because you're just playing the part that something hurt you or you hurt someone," adding, "Remember, you're the creator of everything."

MacLaine, who received an Academy Award for her role in 'Terms of Endearment,' was recently seen on the season finale of FOX's GLEE. Her upcoming big screen projects include Wild Oats, The Locals and Jim Button. Her TV credits include Downton Abbey, Shirley's WORLD and more.

Her Broadway credits include her solo shows Shirley MacLaine on Broadway and Shirley MacLaine, as well as The Pajama Game and Me and Juliet.
