Sun Valley, ID..The Sun Valley Film Festival, recognized by USA Today as one of the "Great Places for a Film Festival" is now accepting films in all categories including shorts, mixed media, animation, youth films, feature length documentaries and narratives for the third annual Festival, March 13 - 16, 2014. Join us this March as we celebrate the art of filmmaking with movies, panels, parties, dinners, special events, and spring skiing.

The regular deadline for submissions is December 20, 2013; early and late deadlines also exist.

2014 Festival Highlights:

New! Wild To Inspire - National Geographic, African Wildlife Foundation and SVFF are sending the winner of their film competition to Africa for a study in filmmaking and wildlife with Emmy Award winning cinematographer, Bob Poole. The competition is now open. For more information go to:

New! Works in Progress Workshop - Works-in-Progress allow selected filmmakers to share their nearly completed film with a sophisticated audience for feedback before the picture is locked. A whiskey intermission breaks up the two screenings.

New! conTent - Dedicated to the exploding genre of digital content only found online. conTent will feature digital premieres, cutting edge panels, and the invite only "Digital Dinner."

New! Future Filmmakers Forum: Screening the best student short films including two cash prizes for the best overall film and best film by an Idaho student. Winners will receive a cash prize courtesy of Big Wood Ski(TM).

Screenwriters Lab: Hosted by award-winning screenwriters of Dallas Buyers Club, Craig Borten and Melisa Wallack, attendees come together in this unique forum to learn about the craft, ask questions about the trade and hear war stories from inspiring and working screenwriters. The Lab invites submissions of original screenplays for its High Scribe competition and the winner will have their work brought to life during a live table read with professional actors.
