On last night's CONAN on TBS, funnyman Will Ferrell interrupted the program to make a special announcement. Dressed as his alter ego, anchorman Ron Burgundy, Ferrell accompanied himself on the jazz flute and insulted host Conan O'Brien's appearance joking,"You look awful. You look like someone put a bright big fright wig on a skeleton. ... I'm being kind right now."

After five minutes of banter, the comedian revealed, "As of oh-nine-hundred Mountain Time, Paramount Pictures and myself, Ronald Joseph Aaron Burgundy, have come to terms on a sequel to 'Anchorman. It is official: There will be a sequel to 'Anchorman.'"

In 2010, Ferrell told MTV that he believed most of the original cast of the 2004 film would return including Steve Carell, Paul Rudd, Christina Applegate, David Koechner, Chris Parnell and Fred Willard. The film grossed more than $91 million worldwide.

Filming on the sequel is expected to begin later this year.
