Patina Miller swung by THE TODAY SHOW this week to chat about her transition from Broadway to one of the biggest movie franchises- THE HUNGER GAMES.

Miller, who won the Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical in 2013 for her role as the Leading Player in PIPPIN, has now transitioned to the big screen. She plays Commander Paylor, the leader of a group of rebels in one of the Districts. In the film Miller gives several rousing speeches to the crowds as they try to overtake the Capitol. She says she thought of great speeches to help her with this role. "I think of my Mother, she's a minster, and I grew up around a lot of preachers and people like that.... I really just channel that. And my Leading Player in Pippin. I was right off the heels of that, so I had taken all those influences into it."

Patina Miller also chats about taking on the iconic role of The Leading Player in PIPPIN and online dating. Check out the full video.

HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINGJAY PART 2 is now in theaters.
